Raam Shankar’s next will be big
Puri Jagannadh’s brother is acting in a film that has six National Award winning technicians and will release in five languages
Director Puri Jagannadh’s brother Raam Shankar’s film Vaadu Nenu Kadu is set to release in five languages.
The film was recently launched in Hyderabad at a private studio. “This project is very important and will be a good one for my career,” says Raam, adding, “I am more excited because the film is also releasing in Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada. I am making my debut in these languages with this film.”
Raam says that the shooting of the film will take place in Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka for the respective languages.
Another interesting point is that six National Award winners are working for this film – director Vinod Vijayan from the Malayalam industry, cameraman Rajeev Ravi, editor Vivek Harshan of Jigarthanda fame, makeup man Pattanam Rasheed of Bhamane Satyabhamane and sound engineer Radha Krishna.
Celebrity lawyer Ram Jethmalani attended as a special guest for the launch of the film. “The story is about a criminal lawyer. The film’s subject is related to Sections and penal codes, so we called him as a special guest,” says Raam.
He will be playing a lawyer in the film. “Director Vinod and I have been friends for the last 10 years. Two years ago, he had narrated the story to me and we liked it. It’s a thriller,” says the actor.
Mahima Nambiar is playing one of the two female leads. For the launch, the makers organised a Srichakra puja by popular astrologer Vineeth Bhatt. Lasting for more than an hour, this was perhaps the longest puja for a Telugu film launch. Raam adds that the film will release in Bhojpuri too.
