Corporations are functionally independent

Hyderabad: The APSRTC officially split into TSRTC and APSRTC on Wednesday and started functioning as two corporations. Four hundred promotions and transfer orders were issued in APSRTC on Wednesday while another 200 were issued in the TSRTC.

The transfer orders were signed by managing director Nanduri Sambasiva Rao for APSRTC and by joint MD G.V. Ramana Rao for TSRTC. The officers who have been promoted and transferred will be relieved on Thursday and will be joining duty at their new offices a day later. Prominent postings and transfers were those of six executive directors in AP and three in Telangana.

The AP list includes G. Jaya Rao (operations), A. Venkateswara Rao (administration), A. Koteswara Rao (engineering, IT and Kadapa zone), N. Venkateswara Rao (Nellore), S. Ravindra Babu (Nellore, on promotion) and A. Ramakrishna (Vizianagaram). In TS, the new postings are M. Ravinder, Nagaraj (Hyderabad) and Purushotham Naik (Greater Hyderabad and Karimnagar).

Also, 18 orders were issued in AP at the level of regional managers or heads of departments, 77 for regional manager-level officers and 196 at the rank of depot managers, including workshop and assistant traffic managers etc

In TS, there were 12 promotions and 25 transfers from junior to senior-scale, and 45 in supervisory cadres that include promotion to junior scale and transfers for traffic inspectors and mechanical foremen. With the division, the long-indicated fare hike might be around the corner, sources said.
