ANANTAPUR: In his first reaction to the cash-for-vote scam, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday blamed the YSRC, Congress and the TRS for trying to suppress the Telugu Desam. Stating that YSRC chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, with 16 cases against him, was trying to blame him, Mr Naidu said, “Y.S. Jagan has spots all over his body but is trying to blame me.”
The AP CM on Wednesday kick started the second phase of the Janmabhoomi Mavooru programme at Gotlur village in Dharmvaram mandal in the district. He said the Congress, YSRC and the TRS were trying to tarnish the TD’s image for political mileage.
Since the election code of conduct is on for the MLC polls, Mr Naidu could not announce funds and schemes, much to the disappointment of locals. He, however, reiterated that the Pattiseema project would irrigate Rayalaseema, mainly Anantapur. “Pattiseema will be completed in six-seven months,” Mr Naidu said.
Meanwhile, speaking in Chittoor district on Wednesday, Mr Naidu said refering to the scam: “I am clean, none can do anything to me.”
