N Raghuveera Reddy slams BJP, TD on special status to Andhra Pradesh
TD didn’t implement even one promise it made during polls, says Raghuveera Reddy
Visakhapatnam: PCC chief N. Raghuveera Reddy slammed both ruling parties TD and BJP for deceiving public on according special status to AP even one year after the coalition came to power. He alleged that the TD has compromised its interests with the NDA government and not pressurising the Centre for special status.
“State’s development has slowed down since the last one year during the TD and BJP rule. TD didn’t implement even one promise it made during polls. On special status to AP, both the ruling parties deceived people. TD has stopped pressing for special status. Not even a single employment opportunity has been created,” he told a party workers meet held on Wednesday.
Mr Reddy said protesting TD’s one year misrule, the Congress is staging a massive protest at Rajahmundry on June 6 and also organising a programme to burn the election manifesto of TD across the state on June 8.
“Not even single promise in the TD’s election manifesto has been implemented. TD’s official website now doesn’t have 2014 poll manifesto while manifestos of earlier polls as old as 20 years are also seen,” he said.
The senior Congress leader told workers not to worry about some leaders leaving the party, indirectly referring to former minister Botsa Satyanrayana, who is set to dump Congress and join the YSRC.
Mr Raghuveera Reddy, along with, Rajya Sabha member T. Subbarami Reddy, distributed books to collect one crore signatures against TD’s one year rule, to the party workers.
