Chennai: The alumni of Bala Vidya Mandir school, including those who passed out last year, gathered in large numbers on Thursday and expressed anguish over its current state of affairs.Their involvement went beyond mere exchange of words, as they also assisted in taking care of their teachers who sat through the day on the pavement outside the school.

Param Krishnan, (2004 batch), currently doing his MBA in Odisha, was in the city for an internship when he was made aware of the school issue through social media posts.“The alumni can play an important role, as we really know how the school was years ago. When we share our insights and opinion to the management, we hope things will move in the right direction,” he said.

Another alumni, Sidharth Manirajan, said, “When we were studying, we had the glorious regime of Mr Nathan, who was then the principal of the school. I am here to stand by my teachers who have given me so much. Instead of taking decisions arbitrarily, the management should take on board the views of all stakeholders.”
