47.67 lakh people greeted Karunanidhi on his birthday

Chennai: DMK president M. Karunanidhi on Thursday thanked all the 47.67 lakh people who greeted him on his birthday and wishes for him topped Twitter India trends. “Birthday wishes for me on Twitter by using the tag #HBDkalaignar was in the first place yesterday in Twitter India trends. I thank them,” Mr Karunanidhi said in a statement.
A total of 47,66,837 persons had greeted him through SMS, social networking sites Facebook, Google Plus, and micro-blogging site Twitter, his website, besides on phone and greeting him personally, Karunanidhi said in a “thanks message” to those who had wished him on his 92nd birthday Wednesday. “Your greetings and wishes encourage my work for the people; it is a further boost to work more for them and I express my heartfelt thanks to everyone who greeted me on my birthday,” he said.
