Youth abducts, rapes minor girl in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: A minor girl was allegedly kidnapped and raped by a youth at Basheerabad in Ranga Reddy district. The victim who is studying in Class VIII had come to her house for summer vacation. She got acquainted with the accused, a local. He promised to marry and sexually exploited her, police said. The 19-year-old accused is a driver and stays near the victim’s house. The 14-year-old girl who studies in a school at Kodangal in Mahbubnagar district came to her house about a month ago. During her stay here she came into contact with the accused. Eventually both became friends and recently he proposed marriage to her.

Police said that on June 2 while the victim was on way to a store the youth approached her and by making false promises of marriage he took her to Karnataka and then to Lingampalli and Tandur and raped her.

“He promised to marry her and took her to a secluded place near the Tandur Railway Station and raped her. The victim escaped and reached her house. Though she was initially reluctant later she informed her mother what happened,” said inspector M. Laxma Reddy.

Based on a complaint lodged by the victim on Friday a rape case under section 376 (The Criminal law (Amendment) Act) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act was booked against the accused. The accused was taken into custody. The victim was sent to hospital for examination.
