Hyderabad: The AP government is planning to lodge its complaint with the Krishna River Management Board (KRMB) against two irrigation projects in Telangana.

TS Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao is scheduled to lay foundation stone to Nakkalagandi (upper Dindi) project on June 8 and Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigati-on scheme in Nalgonda on June 11. Both the projects, which are expected to cost Rs 45,000 crore, are estimated to consume nearly 100 TMC ft water from the interstate Srisailam Dam.

However, a senior AP official claims that his government is waiting for the issuance of formal government orders (GOs) by Telangana government on the construction of the two projects.

A Telangana official said that GOs on the two projects will be issued in a day or two. According to the AP Reorganisation Act, Eleventh Schedule (Para 7), the AP official claimed, both Telangana and AP are barred from taking up new projects without obtaining formal sanction from Apex Council on River Water Resources.
