Rains arrive, pre-monsoon showers bring cheer in AP and Telangana

Telangana will have to wait for at least three-four more days for rains

Hyderabad: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) reported that the Southwest Monsoon had made an onset over Kerala on Friday and rains could be expected in Andhra Pradesh in 48 hours (by Sunday).

The IMD also predicted that the conditions were favourable for further advancement of the monsoon and parts of Rayalaseema may get heavy rainfall on Saturday.

However, Telangana will have to wait for at least three-four more days for rains. Pre-monsoon showers are being experienced at isolated places across the two states. In Andhra Pradesh, it rained at Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, West Godavari and Anantapur whereas in Telangana, Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, Adilabad, Khammam, Karimnagar and Medak received showers.
