Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao expressed confidence that there would be no need for the TS government to purchase power from other states from next year. He said the government is taking steps to produce power to meet the state’s needs from next year.

“At present, we are purchasing power from other states to meet our demand. There would be no need to buy power next year and in two-three years, we will make Telangana a power-surplus state,” Mr Rao remarked while addressing electricity department engineers, who came to his camp office on Saturday to mark the first anniversary.
