Need more proof, say experts
Officers will have to match the voice of Mr Naidu using forensic tests
Hyderabad: The alleged conversation between Chandrababu Naidu and nominated MLA Elvis Stephenson could be crucial evidence if it can be substantiated, a legal expert said.
Officers will have to match the voice of Mr Naidu using forensic tests and then place it as evidence, said Mr T. Praduymna Kumar Reddy, senior criminal lawyer in the High Court.
He said, “The conversation can be used as material evidence to prove that there was a conversation between Mr Naidu and the MLC.”
He said the brief conversation did not mention Mr Naidu offering money. “If it is available with the agency, the latter will have to corroborate it with call data and forensic experts’ reports,” he added.
Senior HC counsel Sarsani Satyam Reddy said, “Prima facie it is sufficient evidence to prove that Mr Naidu was one of the conspirators.”
He added, “I believe that there is evidence with the agency to prove that the AP chief minister offered money to Mr Stephenson. Otherwise it would not dare expose it.”
