Fly Snap: An ideal first phone
The 4-inch Fly Snap handset is priced at Rs 2,999
This is the time of the year when many parents are cajoled by their kids into gifting them their first phone. A simple feature phone obviously won't do. The connected generation expects to access Facebook, Whatsapp, Dubsmash and what not. UK-based Fly Mobiles, has launched one of the cheapest smart phones in India -- costing just Rs 2999. The "Fly Snap" is a dual SIM device, powered with 1.3GHz Quad Core, a 5 MP built in camera plus flash at the back and 2MP front camera and comes with a decent 4-inch IPS LCD display.
Available only at Snapdeal.com, it offers 3G connectivity, GPS and Bluetooth. The integrated Google Drive lets you carry your documents wherever you go.
The Android KitKat 4.4.2 OS means it has the feel and functionality of a phone costing many times more. It is housed in a lightweight, sleek plastic shell, with a loudspeaker positioned on the bottom left of the back panel -- and the sound it generates is pretty clear and loud, considering its rock bottom price tag. A first smart phone for your child, which is easy to use and light to handle -- and at a price that won't give you a stroke if lost.
