I will face any trouble for the title: Bala
National award winner production venture Chandi Veeran will face problems due to its title
Of late K’town films have run into trouble either for their titles or scripts. It looks like noted filmmaker Bala’s production venture Chandi Veeran, which features Atharvaa and Anandhi of Kayal fame, will face problems due to its title. Sargunam of Vaagai Sooda Vaa fame has directed the movie.
The national award winner, known for being an outspoken filmmaker who deals with bold themes, said, “I loved the story when Sargunam narrated it. And felt Atharvaa would suit the lead character and he was also waiting for the correct script at that time. I decided to produce it under my home banner. If at all the film faces any protest for its title Chandi Veeran like Sandiyar did, I am ready face it.” Interestingly, Atharvaa, who had collaborated with Bala for the award winning movie Paradesi, gave his nod for Chandi Veeran without even listening to the script, entirely trusting Bala in the matter.
One may recall that Sandiyar was the title chose by Kamal Haasan for the film which was produced and directed by him more than a decade ago. The title ran into trouble even as the shooting of the film started, and owing to pressure from various segments including politicians, the actor changed it to Virumaandi.
