Andhra Pradesh Cabinet to pass resolution
Complain to PM Modi about the phone-tapping incident
Hyderabad/ Vijayawada: AP IT minister Palle Raghunatha Reddy said the Cabinet, at an emergency meeting on Tuesday, will pass a resolution against the telephone tapping of the Telangana government and complain to the Centre.
After the meting, Mr Naidu will leave for Delhi on a two-day visit. He said tapping telephones was a severe crime as per the Telegraph Act and the Supreme Court has taken a serious view on it in the past. He said that the AP government had equal powers in the combined capital but the Telangana government was behaving unilaterally.
AP health minister Kamineni Srinivas (BJP) said that his party would cooperate with the resolutions that would be adopted by the Cabinet and added that if necessary they would complain to Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the phone-tapping incident.
Meanwhile, AP finance minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu demanded that a case be booked against the Telangana government for misusing the Telegraph Act.
While in Delhi, Mr Naidu will meet several ministers on pending issues. Sources said if possible, Mr Naidu might also meet the Prime Minister and brief him about the latest developments.
The routine AP cabinet meeting was scheduled for June 16, but on Mr Naidu’s directions, General Administration Department (GAD) officials informed the ministers’ offices on Monday about the emergency meeting at 11am on Tuesday at the Secretariat.
