Windstream sets up hybrid solar factory

Product consists of wind turbines and solar panels and can generate power up to 1KW

Hyderabad: Tapping the growing popularity of solar products in India, Windstream Technologies has come up with Solar Mill, a hybrid product which consists of wind turbines and solar panels and can generate power up to 1KW.

Initially, the company will be importing generators and turbines from the US and the localisation level would be 20 per cent. However, it plans to set up full-fledged factory by 2016. Speaking on the sidelines of launch of its manufacturing facility in Shamshabad, its president and CEO Dan Bates said that they will be investing $6 million in the facility and plan to come up with two more facilities in other parts of the country.
