Richa Pallod, who started her K’town career as Vijay’s heroine in Shajahan, vanished from the scene only to return in character roles. She was last seen in the Jayam Ravi film Something Something, where she played  Trisha’s friend and now, after almost a decade, she is making a comeback in Tamil with Yagavaraayinum Naa Kaakka (YNK) which features Aadhi and Nikki Galrani. Aadhi’s brother Sathya Prabhas, a product of LA’s American Film Institute, wields the megaphone for the first time.

The pretty lady was in the city to promote her film. Talking about how she came on board for YNK, she said, “I was in Mumbai, and one day Sathya called at 10 pm and said he needed half an hour. He asked if he could narrate a character in his film and I agreed. However, the call ended at 1 am. He left me in suspense, and wanted to talk about it the next day. I kept thinking about the character the whole night. The next morning I called Sathya and asked for the rest of script.”

Describing Sathya as a ‘Hitler’ she said, “He asked for 15 days of my call sheet and I handed it over. When I arrived for the shoot, to my surprise I was given a huge bound script. I didn’t know what was coming. As the days progressed, I felt as if YNK was my first film. That is because the director was hellbent on perfectionism. He was insistent about getting the best out of me. On the last day of my shoot, I didn’t get a certain line properly. I wanted to leave and asked Sathya whether I could correct it while dubbing. But he insisted that I do it right and went for 30 re-takes. I felt that a new actress was born in me.”
