Dry spell to continue in Chennai, says Chennai Metrological Department

Last seven days the average temperature has been in the range of 37-38 degree Celsius

Chennai: The dry spell in the city is expected to continue for the next few days, officials from the meteorological department of Chennai said.Residents of Chennai will have to bear the dry spell as mercury levels are likely to rise until mid-June.

The heat is expected to subside, thereafter, said Thambi Narayanan, deputy director general, meteorological department of Chennai on Wednesday. During the last  seven days the average temperature has been in the range of 37-38 degree Celsius, officials from the Met department said. Meanwhile, thunderstorms with rain were observed 40 km west of Vellore and East of Bengaluru on Wednesday.
