VIJAYAWADA: Public health department officials on Wednesday conducted an inspection at the factory of Nandi Foods in Singh Nagar and filed charges against the owner for running the unit under fake license and adulterating  ghee and oil.

The officials of Public Health wing of Vijayawada Municipal Corporation conducted the raid and seized all stock based on the complaint  made by A shiva, a local resident.
"Soon after finding the irregularities in the oil and ghee stored, VMC  ordered to test the samples in the laboratory to find the allegations on the adulteration in ghee," said Central MLA Bonda Umamaheswar Rao who visited the location.

The officials have also found that the company was not only practising adulteration but also illegally selling  oil and ghee with many un-registered names while  the firm had permission to sell them only in two brand names. Officials also informed that the firm was not paying commercial taxes properly.
