Shift Governor, Chandrababu Naidu tells Narendra Modi
Mr Naidu brought up the cash-for-vote issue with the PM
Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu who had a one-on-one meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday evening, reportedly sought the replacement of Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan immediately, as he had failed to protect the interests of the Andhra Pradesh government and was showing an inclination towards the Telangana state government in all matters related to the two Telugu-speaking states.
Mr Naidu also sought the PM’s intervention to bring in relevant rules to make Section 8 of the AP Reorganisation Act, which provides more powers to the Governor, effective and appoint a new Governor.
He said the law and order machinery in the common capital area of Hyderabad should be brought under Governor as per the Act and should not be kept in the hands of the Telangana government.
Mr Naidu brought up the cash-for-vote issue with the PM and complained that the Telangana government of CM K. Chandrasekhar Rao was bent on implicating him. He sought the Centre’s intervention in the matter.
