Jayalalithaa inaugurates civic projects worth Rs 281 crore

Projects include water augmentation projects, bus shelters, new streetlights etc

Chennai: Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa threw open a slew of civic projects including those aimed at enhancing drinking water coverage and augmenting drinking water resources in Nilgiris. She inaugurated civic projects at a cost of Rs281 crore across the state, an official press release said on Wednesday.

These projects include water augmentation projects, bus shelters, new streetlights, community centres, commercial complexes built by municipal administration departments. Ms  Jayalalithaa also kick-started sewerage drain works for Mamallapuram and Theni areas at a cost of Rs 50 crore. State ministers S. P. Velumani, Vijayabhaskar and chief secretary Gnandesikan and municipal administration secretary Phanindhar Reddy participated.
