Doctor dies jumping off train

He was crushed under the wheels of the train

CoimbatoreA 35-year-old doctor, who jumped off  a moving train in North Coimbatore railway junction was crushed under the wheels of the train on Thursday morning. A doctor at a private hospital in Peelamedu, Dr T. Arun Kumar, who was returning by Blue Mountain Express from Chennai after attending a doctors' conference  and  had to alight at the North Coimbatore station. As he overslept and the train started to move from the station, Dr Arun Kumar just jumped off the train. But he fell on the track and was run over by the train, the police said

“He had slept off when the train reached the north Coimbatore junction at around 5 a.m. As he woke up, Arun Kumar found that the train had already arrived at his scheduled
destination. Immediately, he packed his things and rushed out, but then the train began to move. However, Arun Kumar hurriedly jumped off the moving train,” police said.
 
While jumping off, Arun Kumar lost his balance and slipped into the gap between the platform and train. He eventually came under the wheels of the train and was crushed to death. “Both his limbs on his right side of the body got severed and he died on the spot. His body was then sent for a post mortem at the Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital (CMCH),” police said.
 
Arun Kumar is survived by his wife Indirani, who works as a nutritionist in a private hospital and a son who is a year and a half old. The passengers at the junction were shocked to see his spine chilling death.
