Scam witness being hidden in Andhra Pradesh: Telangana
Telangana police say that Mattaiah has been moving in and around Vijayawada
Hyderabad: Allegations of harbouring a wanted accused by a neighboring State are now the new twist in cash-for-vote scam. The Telangana State government on Thursday accused AP of harbouring wanted accused No. A4 in the case, Jerusalem Mattaiah.
TS minister T. Srinivas Yadav said, “Though the wanted accused visited a police station in Vijayawada and lodged a complaint against TS officials, the AP police let him go scot-free. He was not handed over to the TS ACB which has been looking for him. This clearly shows how the AP government and police are colluding and are involved in aiding the wanted accused in the case.”
TS police say that Mattaiah has been moving in and around Vijayawada. A TS intelligence official said, “The accused has drafted the complaint inside the Vijayawada police commissionerate premises and submitted it at the police station. This is shocking. He is said to be moving near Kondpally.”
AP police refuted the allegations of TS. Vijayawada police commissioner A.B. Venkateswara Rao said, “Telangana police neither communicated to us nor sought our help in arresting him. We don’t have any information from the TS police on this.”
