Childhood was such a happy place! Whenever someone mentions the ‘childhood’, our brain begins to wander and we step back into so many memories and places. We reminisce the little things our parents said, the big lessons the oldies of the house taught us. However, there is one more thing which remains to be a big part of our childhood, which almost all of us share — the childhood rumours.

I refuse to believe if you tell me that your parents have never told you a ‘white lie’ to make you do or not to do something. Things like ‘if you make funny faces, your face will stay like that’, and ‘if you swallow a fruit seed, a tree will grow out of your nose, mouth, ears and everywhere’. And then you grow up and realise, all that while, your folks were just trying to get their way out of you by telling you all the ‘made-up truth’. Not cool parents!

Recently, Twitter was flooded by many such childhood rumours, where Twitterati shared various toddler tales their folks told them, which they grew up to realise were nothing but fabricated stories.
