Sreejita De is back after a break
Actress made the most of her break time and travelled to different destinations
Sreejita De, popular for her role in the long-running Uttaran was on a break, but is back with Tumhi Ho Bandhu Sakha Tumhi. We caught up with the actress for a quick chat.
Is it true that you were upset about losing another show to Sukirti Kandpal (Dilli Wali Thakur Gurls)?
Not at all! Losing the role to Sukirti was not upsetting because firstly, there was no clarity on when the show would go on-air and within 15 days of that (offer), I was offered Tum Hi Ho Bandhu Sakha Tumhi. I am very happy that Zee TV and Shashi Sumeet Productions believed in my ability to pull off the character of Shreya.
How did you enjoy your break after Uttaran?
It was a much awaited one! I had been unable to take a trip anywhere in the last three years and needless to say, I was dying for it. So I made the most out of my time and travelled to Delhi, Nainital, Daman, Kolkata and went for a 15-day trip to Thailand. I have been in Mumbai for the past seven years, but had never managed to explore the surrounding hill stations, so I finally visited Mahabaleshwar, Malshej Ghat and Bhandardara.
How do you feel about working with an ensemble cast on THBST?
We are all friends on the sets. Tushar Dalvi and Aishwarya Narkar, who play mamaji and mamiji respectively, are senior actors, yet extremely approachable. In fact, we call them by their names. Out of all the shows I have done so far, I think this is the first show where I have bonded really well with the entire cast and crew.
What do you like about your new role and look?
I am very happy with my look. I have also lost some extra kilos and am getting a lot of compliments. I enjoyed wearing anarkalis and salwars initially but now I have to wear saris which is a little uncomfortable, but I am happy with it. The curls that I don as Shreya is also a refreshing change.
