WARANGAL: Congress leader Gandra Venkataramana Reddy on Friday slammed Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari for resigning as the MP of Warangal and asked him to apologise to people for letting them down after they chose him as the MP.
Speaking to pressmen at Congress Bhavan here, he said conducting elections would mean additional burden on both the state and Central governments. "TRS has no right to ask for votes in the upcoming by-elections for the MP seat vacated by Kadiam Srihari who was made the Deputy Chief Minister after the unceremonious ouster of Dr. T. Rajaiah. Kadiam Srihari let down the people who expected a lot from him. Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao made many promises to people but failed to fulfil them. What happened to the underground drainage he promised to build in Warangal within three months if his party won? It has been one year since their party took over the reins, but still there is no clear plan of action regarding the underground drainage.
There was no benefit for the people in this one year of TRS rule. They have no right to ask votes," he said. Former MP Siricilla Rajaiah, TPCC general secretary and media convenor E. V. Srinivas were present.
