Mumbai: Omung Kumar’s much talked about Sarbjit Singh’s biopic has been in news since its announcement. The film revolves on the struggle of a sister, Dalbir to release her brother from Pakistan. Reportedly, a woman named Baljinder Kaur, who claims to be the real sister of Sarabjit, has sent a legal notice to director Omung and Aishwarya Rai who will be essaying the role of Dalbir in the film.
Baljinder has sent a notice to the makers of the film fearing that the biopic might misconstrue fact about her brother Sarabjit. However Dalbir Kaur, who led a campaign to liberate and bring her brother home from captivity in Pakistan, is not surprised by Baljinder’s claim. She said that Baljinder has tried to extort money from them at several occasions.
However, in a report to Absolute India, Omung said that he hasn’t received any legal notice from Baljinder. “We have not received any notice yet. I have no idea about this lady. I got to know that she sent notice to Subhash Ghai earlier when he was making this film. I have not got any legal notice. I am in touch with Dalbir Kaur, the real sister of Sarabjit who came and met me. She herself is looking into the matter. Dalbir has given me the right and I am making movie on her so nobody else can say anything. Dalbir is the only sister of Sarabjit, so Dalbir herself is sorting it out. I spoke to her about this.”
