Hyderabad: South Zone police booked a case against Samajwadi Party MLA Abu Asim Azmi for making inflammatory remarks in his speech at a public meeting in Chanchalguda. Police also booked a case against two leaders of Majlis Bachao Tahreek. The MLA was attending a meeting organised by MBT in Government Junior College on Friday night. While the case against the SP MLA is under IPC Section 153A for creating enmity between two communities. Mr Azmi had described the killing of five undertrials at Alair of Nalgonda district on April 7 as “cold blooded murder” and a conspiracy to instill fear among the minorities.

"All five youth were handcuffed, chained and seated in van. The police theory of encounter is illogical and insane. We are not ready to buy the contention that Muslim youth were killed in their bid to escape from police custody. We will ensure that all policemen who are responsible for the act are arrested and sent to jail," he said.

He added that the TS government ignored the foul plays in encounter since the victim belonged to Muslim communities, and AP government ordered probe into Seshachalam Encounter because they belonged to another community. The South Zone police officials said that this statement was inflammatory.
