A strong assertion of confidence and strength, the Colour of 2015, marsala, helps to flaunt a bold look without making your style look loud. And this is why you should opt for it this season.

A blend of naturally robust and earthy wine red, deep purple and brown is what makes marsala a trend and not just a colour. It has not only taken over the beauty industry as an innovative style statement, but its appeal, as a hue that can be improvised for all skin tones, makes it the ultimate make-up accessory.

The brilliance of the colour is in its intense pigmentation which makes it a hit on light-medium and dark skin tones. The  marsala lip colour, brings out this classic look. With multiple options available, one can choose from a glossy to matte finish with more of red or brown in the shade.

For the eyes, one can choose a subtle style or a bold look with marsala-toned shadows. These shadows can be paired with multiple shades of brown. From a grey-toned sculpting shade to a warm chocolate-brown, the combination will add intensity to the eyes. Pair it with a deep purple, plum or black shade for a magnetic effect. A simple smudged smoky eye, accentuates the marsala even more. Begin by lining the upper and lower lash line with brown eye liner and then create a halo effect with the marsala shadow on the lid and lower lash line.

Working on the cheeks, a marsala blush creates an eye-catching look. Work the blush on the edges of the apples of cheeks, to highlight the cheekbones and top it with a highlighter for the evening.
