Hyderabad: After good rainfall over the next three days, there will be a decrease in rainfall activity, according to the Indian Meteorological Department in the coming week.

“It is normal for the monsoon to fluctuate: vigorous on some days, active or weak on others,” said Y. K. Reddy, in-charge director IMD, Hyderabad.

The monsoon is vigorous over Telangana and active in coastal Andhra Pradesh. After 48 hours, the intensity might go down and there will be less rainfall, he said. The monsoon is yet to advance over Srikakulam.

Meanwhile, the IMD has issued a heavy rainfall warning over isolated places in Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East Godavari and West Godavari districts of coastal Andhra Pradesh and Adilabad, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Warangal and Khammam in Telangana for the next 48 hours.

The other districts of both the states will receive moderate to heavy rain over the next 48 hours.

Manuguru mandal in Khammam received the maximum rainfall at 9 cm in Telangana, followed by 7 cm at Yellandu mandal. Gudur mandal of Warangal recorded 6 cm along with Dummugudem and Khanapur of Adilabad district.

In Andhra Pradesh, Koyyalagudem mandal of West Godavari district recorded the maximum rainfall of 7 cm, Gudur, Tenali of Nellore district 6 cm each and Amalapuram in East Godavari 6 cm.
