Watch: ‘Mauka Mauka’ like ad mocks Team India
According to the ad, the Men in Blue will be welcomed with a bamboo
Mumbai: The ‘mauka mauka’ campaign turned out to be a big hit during the recently concluded ICC Cricket World Cup despite India taking a light hearted dig at all their opponents but it looks like a similar kind of commercial is doing the rounds, only this time India is at the receiving end.
In a shocking case of vengeance, a Bangladesh cola advertisement has warned Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni and the Indian cricket team, who are currently on tour to Bangladesh, that they will be welcomed with a bamboo.
It all starts with an enthusiastic Bengali person from Kolkata asking another person, “Are you a Pakistani?” The other person, who was eating says, “Yes”.
Here’s the transcript
Mr X (Bengali), Mr Y (Pakistani)
Mr X: It seems you are from Pakistan.
Mr Y: Ji haan (yes, I am)
Mr X: So I suppose it is the people of Bangladesh who made you hold the lamp (breaks into laughter).
“Haath ey hurricane” (a lamp in the hand to find your way in darkness) is a common way of taunting a person who has lost everything. It is referred to Pakistan’s series loss to Bangladesh.
Mr X: The way Bangladesh thrashed you. Hahaha.
Mr Y was relishing ‘paani puri’.
Mr X: You’re still hungry even after being fed by Bangladesh batsmen?
Mr Y (picks up a bamboo): Your team is going to Bangladesh, they will get it now.
The advertisement has sparked out a huge debate on social media. This is not the first time though Bangladesh have hit back at their neighbours.
During the World Cup days too, after a ‘mauka mauka’ ad was targeted at the Tigers, India’s eastern neighbour also came out with a commercial that hit back at them.
