Anil Kapoor is basking in the accolades that he has been receiving for his role as the self-obsessed patriarch in Dil Dhadakne Do. But despite the positive feedback, the actor, known for his evergreen looks, says he’s done with playing dad onscreen — at least for a while. Buzz was that Anil was approached to play Ranbir Kapoor’s father in Anurag Basu’s Jagga Jasoos, but the actor denied it.

“I was never offered Jagga Jasoos. Besides, I am not looking at any more father’s roles at the moment,” he said adding that he is glad that he chose to play father for the right film. “Dil Dhadakne Do was way beyond anything I had expected. I was apprehensive of doing a father’s role, but it worked, thanks to director Zoya Akhtar,” he said.

A source said that showing Anil as the potential father in the film was a marketing ploy by the filmmakers at a time when  Govinda, who was originally approached for the role, was in two minds about it.
