44 per cent school buses yet to get fitness certificates in Karimnagar
The district has 1,433 vehicles belonging to private schools and colleges

Karimnagar: Schools reopened four days ago, but the management of several educational institutions are yet to procure fitness certificate for their vehicles.
The district has 1,433 vehicles belonging to private schools and colleges. Fitness certificates of 803 vehicles were renewed as on June 15. But, 630 vans need to renew their fitness certificates.
This means, a sum of 44 per cent of vehicles are yet to pass the fitness tests. Twelve vehicles were seized across the district for not possessing renewed certificates so far.
Usually, the management of the institutions must renew fitness certificates of their vehicles at the beginning of the academic year. Road transport authorities undertake tests on the vehicles.
