Amway outlet in Somajiguda raided
Amway is selling its products in accordance with the FSSAI
Hyderabad: The State Commission for Protection of Child Rights on Monday raided an Amway sales outlet in Somajiguda following allegations that banned products were being sold there.
Following the raid, representatives of SCPCR issued an official memorandum to the state health and family welfare department stating that the team found “baby foods and drinks which were banned by undivided Andhra Pradesh.”
The complainant, M.V. Shyam Sundar, secretary, Corporate Frauds Watch Society, of Hyderabad, had complained that “Amway India has been selling products by issuing misleading advertisements and apart from it, several cases have been pending against the products of Amway. SCPCR has called on SHFW department to submit a report on the issue by June 29. Responding to the raid and the allegations, Mr Sameer Bajaj, National Head Corporate Communication & CSR, Amway India stated, “Amway is selling its products in accordance with the FSSAI. We are not selling any product for which approval has been denied by FSSAI”.
