Southwest monsoon yet to cover Srikakulam

In TS, Jukkal mandal of Nizamabad recorded the maximum amount of rainfall of 11 cm

The Southwest Monsoon's arrival in Andhra Pradesh, which was predicted by the IMD to be "in the next two days" last week, has now been revised.

Hyderabad: The south west monsoon remains active in Telangana and in coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema. It is yet to advance into Srikakulam district as on Monday.

Conditions are favourable and the south west monsoon will cover coastal AP within three days, IMD inferences read.

In TS, Jukkal mandal of Nizamabad recorded the maximum amount of rainfall of 11 cm. Chandrugonda from Khammam recorded 9 cm, Khanapur from Adilabad 8 cm, Gudur from Warangal recorded 7 cm. Most stations from TS, except Hyderabad, recorded light rain on Monday.

The IMD has revised the “heavy rainfall warning” for isolated places in Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East Godavari, West Godavari, Krishna and Guntur of coastal AP and districts of Adilabad, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Warangal and Khammam of TS for the next 48 hours.

The remaining districts of TS and coastal AP will receive moderate to heavy rain over the next 48 hours.
