New Delhi: Referring to a party insider having a role to play in leaking information about the minister’s recommendation and her family’s association with Lalit Modi, wanted in India on charges of money-laundering, BJP MP Kirti Azad tweeted: “#BJPs #AsteenKaSaanp ...conspire against BJP leaders. Guess the snake? I Stand With SushmaSwaraj...”

In the eye of the storm, Ms Swaraj also hit back at the media, pointing a finger at a television journalist. In her tweet, taking a swipe at the TV journalist, she said: “Look who is preaching propriety — of all the persons.”

MEA sources said that regardless of the current furore, the external affairs minister was sticking to her plan of travelling to New York to celebrate International Yoga Day on June 21.

While Ms Swaraj continued to assert she had done no wrong in facilitating Modi’s travel documents, it has come to light that the minister’s daughter, Bansuri Swaraj, who is a lawyer, had represented the former IPL chief several times in the Delhi high court.
