Elvis Stephenson on Revanth Reddy scam: I did it for Telangana

Hyderabad: A day before the nominated Anglo Indian MLA Elvis Stephenson is scheduled to give his statement before the Magistrate, a solidarity and support meet was held for the MLA on Tuesday by the Anglo Indian community along with city Christian associations.
Speaking for the first time after the cash-for-vote scam broke, Mr Stephenson said, “I knew what I was doing. I did it for people of Telangana state... I did it for the benefit of the state.
If one Elvis dies there will be thousands like him.” He added, “I will work to strengthen the hands of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao. I thank the entire community for backing me and I request everyone to continue to pray for me.” Mr Stephenson, along with his daughter Jessica Stephenson, is scheduled to give his statement before the Magistrate on June 17.
