17 school buses fail safety test in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The Road Transport Authority has booked 17 school buses for not having the mandatory fire extinguishers in the buses. The ongoing raids on school buses have seen a large number of non- compliance cases. During the ongoing special drive against school buses conducted across the city, 17 cases were booked against the managements of school buses plying without the mandatory fire extinguishers.
“We booked 66 buses on various offenses, about 29 were for lack of fitness, 17 for not having fire extinguishers while others were for minor offenses,” said Joint Transport Commissioner (Hyderabad), T. Raghunath.
