Singapore, Japan Prime Ministers to grace Amaravati ceremony
Cabinet gave its nod for the Detailed Project Report of Metro Rail project

Hyderabad: The PMs of Japan and Singapore will be invited for the foundation stone laying ceremony of Amaravati along with Mr Modi, the AP cabinet has decided. “We are going to perform it on a grand scale on Vijayadasami Day,” Palle Raghunath Reddy, minister for IT said.
The cabinet gave its nod for the Detailed Project Report of Metro Rail project. “The total cost will be Rs 6,823 crore, out of which Rs 866 crore will be arranged by the Centre. We are taking a loan of Rs 3,600 crore from JICA (Japan International Cooperative Agency). This will be completed by 2019,” Raghunatha Reddy disclosed.
The new excise policy was cleared with some modifications. Now every mandal will have a government liquor shop. These shops will be opened in 660 mandals. MRP violation and dilution will be checked excise minister Kollu Ravindra said. The lottery system will be finalised by month-end and detailed guidelines will be issued in two days, he said. Nearly 3,31,000 tonnes of ore was excavated at Mangampet Barytes mines this year which is a record. Other key decisions are VAT exemption for all gas power plants in AP.
The Centre will give Rs 7,500 crore for this. Green AP movement from July 8 to 15. 50 crore trees will be planted. All headmasters, MPEOS and other key government staff will be given tabs and smart phones. Rs 2.5 crore will be given for renovation of masjids.
