Bhatt's to turn to past glory, remake Sadak
Earlier Mohit was given the option to remake Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahi
Vishesh Films is going through a rough phase. None of the production house’s films have fared well in the recent past. Their latest offering Humari Adhuri Kahaani opened to decent numbers at the box office, but the word of mouth didn’t help it sustain through the week. It is now reliably learnt that the Bhatts are counting on their past glory to redeem their position.
Plans are underway to remake Sadak, starring Pooja Bhatt and Sanjay Dutt. The film was one of the top grossers of 1991. Says a source in the know, “Both Mahesh and Mukesh (Bhatt) have pinned their hopes on Vishesh’s older films. Interestingly, Vishesh Bhatt (son of Mukesh) has decided to direct the second instalment of this film. Earlier Mohit was given the option to remake Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahi but he decided to make Hamari Adhuri Kahani instead.
Vishesh has already started working on the idea and it will take some time before the final draft is ready. The casting will be crucial as they need an actor who can match up to the intensity of Sanjay Dutt.” Vishesh made his debut as a director in Bollywood with Murder 3.
