Hyderabad: To be in sync with the government’s Make in India initiative and to decrease its import dependency due to depreciation of rupee, Toyota Kirloskar Motors is aiming to increase its localisation component to 90 per cent in the next two to three years, a top official of the company said.

“We are already having about 55 per cent localisation across all models and we plan to rise this to 90 per cent in the next two to three years. By this, we want to highlight the Modi government’s Make in India initiative and also are planning to decrease our dependency on imports, which in turn will cost cutting in production,” said N. Raja, senior vice president and director, sales and marketing department, Toyota Kirloskar Motor Private Limited.
