Mob lynches rapist-killer to death in Andhra Pradesh

Rajahmundry: An infuriated mob on Friday lynched a man who had allegedly raped and killed a seven-year-old girl at Eluru in West Godavari.

Labourer Ganagati Suresh, 35, had allegedly raped and murdered the girl at Madepalli village of Eluru rural mandal. She had gone to a kirana shop in the evening of June 16 and had failed to return home by night.

Her father lodged a complaint with the Eluru rural police on June 17. On the evening of the same day, family members of the girl and villagers apprehended Suresh as they suspected him to be the culprit and thrashed him severely.

Suresh was admitted to a government hospital at Eluru for treatment and was discharged on June 18.
