Passenger found dead in Chennai-bound flight

Alerted by the family members, the flight crew sought the help of airport medical team

Chennai: A 46-year-old passenger from Andaman and Nicobar Islands, was travelling Chennai by a flight for some medical treatment, was found dead when the aircraft landed at the airport on Saturday.

Robert, accompanied by his family members, remained unmoved in his seat when the co-passengers started disembarking after the Air India flight from Andaman landed here, airport officials said.

Alerted by the family members, the flight crew sought the help of airport medical team, which examined and declared him dead.

The cause of the death would be known after post-mortem, they said adding the body had been handed over to Meenambakkam Police, who have registered a case and are investigating.
