Sandalwood actor and producer Rockline Venkatesh is a name to reckon with down South. After tasting success in Kannada, Tamil, and Telugu industries, he is now spreading his wings to Bollywood! His first major venture in association with SKF and Erose is Salman’s upcoming film, Bajrangi Bhaijaan.
Venkatesh also known as Rockline Venkatesh has been a distributor in Bengaluru for a while now. As a producer, he has produced over 25 films under his banner Rockline Productions and has given a number of hit films like the Telugu film Power and Rajnikanth’s Lingaa. Now, with Bajrangi Bhaijaan, he wishes to make more Hindi films with the top stars.
Now associating with Salman Khan, he has high regards for the Being Human actor. “Yes! I got associated with SKF only because of the great script written by Prasad. Director Kabir Khan had read the script of Bajrangi Bhaijaan and is responsible for roping in Salman Khan for this film – a movie that will also mark as Salman’s debut production,” says Rockline. On financial matters he says, “I cannot reveal my financial status on par with this film, especially with Salman. But I am more than happy that I am making this film with Salman.” The producer adds, “I met Salman for the first time when things were being finalised and later met him on the sets too. I must confess that he is one of the most grounded personalities in today’s times. He is a very nice person and his ‘being human’ quality attracts one and all.” About venturing into Bollywood and working on more films with him and other stars in B-Town, he says, “We need to have a good script to approach him. Rohit Shetty is working on the remake of Soodhu Kavvum for which we haven’t yet finalised the cast or credits. We are still in the process of completing the script and once that’s done, Rohit will engage with the cast and credits.” So, Rohit may rope in Shahrukh Khan and not Salman Khan then? “No it all depends on the suitability of the character as well as the actor. For us script has to be good,” says Rockline, adding that he plans on being associated with more Hindi films as he wants to make good films. “Also, at a later stage Bajrangi Bhaijaan will be dubbed in Tamil and other languages,” he says.
Still not revealing the budget for this film and his financial equation with Salman Khan Films, he concludes, “The film has been made under an exorbitant amount of money. How can I tell you my financial equation on par with distribution of the money? This is confidential.”
