Amit Shah takes feedback on party's preparedness for Bihar Assembly polls
Shah told the state unit leaders and workers to relate themselves with the people
Patna: BJP president Amit Shah on Sunday took feedback from BJP leaders and workers on preparations for the Bihar Assembly elections even as he asked party workers to go on a mass contact mode to ensure NDA victory at the hustings.
"Shah met senior BJP leaders and workers to take feedback on preparations for the Bihar Assembly polls and directed us to step up mass contact to ensure the NDA's victory," BJP state unit chief Mangal Pandey said.
Shah was informed about multi-staged programmes chalked out by the state unit to reach out to the voters in the run up to the polls due later this year, he said.
The party president gave us valuable guidance on how we could step up mass mobilisation campaign by harping on BJP's ideology and agendas for development of Bihar if the NDA government comes to power, Pandey said.
"All of you should fan out to the grass root and interact with the people to find out their aspirations and expectations from the BJP," the BJP state unit chief said quoting his party's national president.
He said the BJP president told the state unit leaders and workers to relate themselves with the people and tell them how the NDA government could boost rapid development of Bihar by working in tandem with the government at the Centre being led by the same party and coalition.
Shah also asked party workers to inform the voters as to how a state government led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had adopted a "confrontationist" posture towards the Centre much to detriment of Bihar and its development aspirations, Pandey said.
During an hour-long meeting with Shah, we assured him to strive hard to realise the 185+ target at the hustings, the BJP state unit chief said. Senior leaders, including former deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi, Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Nandkishore Yadav and others were present at the closed-door meeting with Shah.
Earlier in the day, the BJP president attended a special yoga session at the Moin-Ul Haque stadium here on the occasion of International Yoga Day where, during a brief speech, he hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi putting yoga onthe world map by getting a resolution passed by the United Nations to recognise to the ancient fitness regime.
