Terrorists are gyaani: Rajnath Singh
There are many people in terrorism, they have knowledge too
New Delhi: On the eve of International Yoga Day, Union home minister Rajnath Singh asked countrymen to channelise their knowledge and energy in a constructive manner.
Mr Singh said even those induging in subversive activities like terrorism have knowledge, but they should utilise this knowledge and energy for constructive purposes.
However, the Opposition Congress continued its attack on the government and accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of making “brazen and shameless attempts at usurping” the ancient Indian heritage of yoga to turn it into a “propaganda and public relations exercise”.
Speaking on the benefits of yoga, Mr Singh said it helps in the comprehensive and integrated development of human personality.
Further explaining, he said: “Knowledge is very dangerous. Those who are involved in terrorist activities, they are also gyaani. They do not lack knowledge. There are many people in terrorism, they have knowledge too. But knowledge should be used in such a way that it becomes helpful to society, not disastrous. Yoga will do the work of controlling that knowledge.”
