Mumbai: Actor-producer Rockline Venkatesh is a name to reckon with down South. A Kannada film producer, he has made several hit movies. Rockline Venkatesh also produced Rajnikanth’s latest release Lingaa. After tasting success in Tamil, Telugu and Kannada industries, he is spreading his wings to Bollywood. His first major venture is in association with SKF and Eros International for Salman’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan.
Venkatesh has a high regard for Salman who he says is a good human being. “Yes, I was able to associate with SKF because of Prasad’s great script. Kabir Khan read the script of Bajrangi Bhaijaan and roped in Salman Khan for this film,” he says, “I met Salman for the first time when things were being finalised and met him on the sets again. He is the most grounded film personality today. He is really very nice and his human quality attracts one and all.”
About doing other films with him or any other Bollywood stars, he says, “We need to have a good script to approach them. However, Rohit Shetty is working on the remake of Soodhu Kavvum. Once the script is in place, Rohit will select the cast and credits.” When asked if Rohit will then rope in Shahrukh Khan and not Salman Khan, Venkatesh answers, “It all depends on the suitability of the actor for the character. For us, script has to be good.”
Rockline also says, “I am planning more Hindi films. I also want to make good films. Also, at a later stage, Bajrangi Bhaijaan will be dubbed in Tamil and other languages." Not willing to reveal the budget of Bajrangi Bhaijaan and his financial equation with Salman Khan Films, he only says, “The film is a big budget film.”
