Bengaluru: Acting upon a report by Deccan Chronicle, the Central division police swung into action and secured a cabbie who had driven over a woman’s foot on Saturday. City-based architect Kruthika Ramesh had posted on a social networking site that the traffic cops had refused help when she approached them on behalf of her injured sister.

In addition, the police have not yet ascertained the identity of erring policeman who had refused Kruthika help. The police are likely to act once Kruthika approaches them and identifies him.

Following the report, the police traced the cabbie within a few hours and secured him. DCP (Central) Sandeep Patil told Deccan Chronicle that the police were now in search of the victim and her sister, who posted the complaint.

Kruthika had written that the police had waved her off on Lavelle Road, when the duo sought help from them. The cops told they were busy as the Chief Minister was arriving to inaugurate St Mark’s Road TenderSure project in some time and couldn’t attend to their case, she had complained. Despite several attempts by the police and Deccan Chronicle, the woman could not be reached.
