Of late, Censor Board has been at the receiving end for the suggestions and restrictions it has imposed on films. The latest film in K’town to fall prey to this unfortunate practice is the Bobby Simha-starrer Urumeen. The trailer of the film did not get a clearance by the Board as they felt a tag line in the trailer would sent wrong signals to the people. Interestingly, the tag line of the movie is ‘Revenge is always ultimate’ and the officials felt it wasn’t appropriate to have it in the trailer.

Director of the film Sakthivel Perumalsamy took to Twitter to express his displeasure. He wrote, “Our movie Urumeen trailer got objected from censor board becos of one sentence Revenge is always ultimate...Gng to Revising committee.” This is perhaps the first time in Kollywood that Censor Board officials have said ‘no’ to a film’s trailer. Sakthivel is perplexed as to how they can reject the trailer when there are films with highly sexual content and violence minting money at the box office. The film stars Reshmi Menon as the female lead.
