10 Held for disturbing Sri Venkateswara University convocation
Venkaiah Naidu said that the Prime Minister would fulfill all their aspirations

Tirupati: Police detained 10 persons belonging to student's wing of YSR Congress for rising slogans and disturbing the proceedings of the 54th convocation of S.V. University here on Monday. Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan and Union minister for urban development M. Venkaiah Naidu were present in the programme.
The students raised slogans and displayed placards demanding special status for AP much to the discomfort of university officials who were caught unawares. Police rushed to the spot and took away the demonstrators.
Meanwhile, Mr Venkaiah Naidu called upon the students not to neglect the mother tongue wherever they are and whatever they become. Addressing the students taking part in the convocation, he said that Indians are in the forefront in every sector across the globe. Lamenting over huge donations and fees being charged by private educational institutes, he said that the trend would destroy the education sector over a period of time.
Referring to the high hopes among people on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Mr Venkaiah Naidu said that the Prime Minister would fulfill all their aspirations. Earlier, the Governor, addressing the 54th convocation, said that the educational institutions are not raising the moral values, patriotism, attitude of social service up to expectations and quality of education is deteriorating. He said situation is alarming. He felt that there is need to strengthen the education system.
