Bengaluru: This is tendersure without tender. The work was given by the Chief Minister to CityConnect Foundation, which is not interested in building good roads. Today, they have managed to convert our Central Business District from heaven to hell. The kind of congestion that TenderSure has managed to create is staggering. It is high time that our chief minister realised the situation and woke up. These people have not calculated the volume capacity of the road before taking up the project.

There are very influential people in positions of power who are tired of asking the chief minister to stop the TenderSure work, but no amount of persuasion is working on him. This is a Rs 100 crore project and 60 percent of it is going to the bureaucrats.  Some experts claim that a few former corporators do not want TenderSure to come to their locality as they will lose out on earning money and hence they are criticising TenderSure. But is it okay for bureaucrats or even CityConnect Foundation to mint money out of this project?

I feel the chief minister should pass an order to immediately put a stop to TenderSure. They should take up such projects in suburban areas where walking is common and not in CBD areas. This project has been done unscientifically and without any rational judgement. The government needs to have a different approach while dealing with urban traffic. They need  to introduce road congestion tax and have a strict driving licence policy.

Make it like a degree course of three years so that people become more responsible. This is how it is done in many developed countries. But we issue 1,500 DLs in a day. I request officials to remove parking on roads which will solve majority of traffic problems.
